Abuja – The academic community and family of Dr Abubakar Abba Tahir, Registrar of Prime University Abuja, who is also the Kakakin Adamawa, are mourning the loss of his 23-year-old daughter, Habiba Barkaaji Abba Tahir.
Habiba passed away on October 10, 2024, after a brief illness.
A final-year student of Economics Education at the Federal College of Education, Yola, Habiba was known for her exceptional academic prowess and unwavering commitment to her faith, having completed the Quran at a tender age. She was married in June last year, alongside her elder sister Adda Suuri.
She is survived by her husband, AbdurRahman; their five-month-old daughter, Islam Surayya; parents, Dr Abubakar Abba Tahir and Hajja Nenne; and siblings.
Habiba, according to her father, was the central pillar of her family home, before her wedding, providing invaluable support and love. Her mother relied on her as a trusted confidante and support system. Her siblings adored her, and her husband cherished her love and companionship.
The family and the Federal College of Education Community will deeply miss Habiba’s vibrant presence and contributions.
Habiba has since been buried according to Islamic rites.
May Allah grant Habiba’s soul a peaceful repose.
