NBTE Approves Six New Courses For Bida Poly

Following the recent reaccreditation and resource inspection visitation to the Federal Polytechnic Bida by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), the institution has now got an approval to run six (6) new programmes.

A letter signed by the NBTE’s Director of Programmes, Musa M. Isogo, on behalf of the Executive Secretary, stated that the Federal Polytechnic Bida has now been granted the approval to run six new programmes with effect from 2019/2020 session.

The approved programmes include HND Nutrition and Dietetics, ND Leisure and Tourism Management, ND Library and Information Sciences, ND Computer Engineering Technology, ND Horticulture and landscaping and ND Agriculture Technology.

According to NBTE, it is the responsibility of the institution to invite it to carryout full accreditation exercise as and when due, adding that “failure to do so within the specified period will disqualify the institution from making further admission into the programmes.”

It further added that “the approved programmes will be due for full accreditation visitation when the first sets of students are in the fourth semester of studies.”

In the same vein, the NBTE also granted an approval for continuity of academic activities in the old programmes that were visited for re-accreditation for another period of five(5) years with effect from 2018/2019 session.

The programmes include HND Urban and Regional Planning, ND & HND Mass Communication, ND Statistics, ND & HND Banking and Finance, ND Public Administration, ND Science Laboratory Technology (Microbiology Option), HND Science Laboratory Technology (Chemistry Option), ND & HND Accountancy, HND Marketing and ND Civil Engineering.
