Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), has reached a major milestone by being ranked the No. 1 university in Nigeria for Quality Education in the 2025 edition of the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings. This prestigious recognition places NSUK at the forefront among 31 Nigerian universities assessed under Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) — Quality Education.

The THE Impact Rankings evaluate universities worldwide based on their contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). For the 2025 rankings, 1,975 universities from 127 countries and territories were assessed, with particular attention to how institutions advance SDG 4 by promoting inclusive, equitable, and high-quality education.

The “Quality Education” category highlights universities that demonstrate excellence in expanding access to education across all levels — from early childhood to lifelong learning — while promoting relevant skills development and effective learning outcomes. NSUK’s top ranking reflects its commitment to building a strong educational foundation that prepares students for success in the global workforce.

In addition to its top placement for SDG 4, NSUK also ranked impressively in other SDG categories:

SDG 1: No Poverty – 3rd out of 25 Nigerian universities

SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth – 9th out of 16 Nigerian universities.

These accolades reaffirm NSUK’s growing reputation as a university committed not only to academic excellence but also to addressing critical global challenges through education, research, and community engagement.
