In a bold move to catalyze institutional growth and development, the Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA), Prof. Aminu Ado, led a high-powered delegation to the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) headquarters in Abuja. The visit, which took place on May 15, 2025, was a testament to the university’s commitment to fostering collaborative relationships with key stakeholders in Nigeria’s education sector.
Accompanied by the Librarian, Dr. Ukashatu Hamza, and the Registrar, Dr. Musa Ajiya, Prof. Ado paid a courtesy visit to the TETFund Chairman, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Alhaji Aminu Bello Massari, CFR. The meeting was a masterclass in strategic partnership-building, with both parties exploring avenues for mutual benefit and growth.
The FUDMA leadership team outlined the university’s vision for progress, highlighting challenges that threaten to impede its growth. These include insecurity, power outages, and inadequate infrastructure. Prof. Ado appealed for government intervention to address these issues, including the establishment of a military barracks near the main campus, enhanced perimeter fencing, and provision of logistics support.
“We are committed to academic excellence and infrastructural development,” Prof. Ado said. “However, we face significant challenges that require collaborative efforts to overcome. We believe that with the support of TETFund and other stakeholders, we can achieve our goals and contribute to the development of Nigeria.”
In response, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Alhaji Massari, CFR, commended Prof. Ado’s dynamism and commitment to institutional excellence. He assured FUDMA of TETFund’s willingness to support projects that align with national educational goals and innovation-driven academia. Specifically, he pledged to support selected universities, including FUDMA, with solar energy solutions to mitigate power outages and related challenges.
“TETFund is committed to supporting universities in Nigeria to achieve their full potential,” Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Alhaji Massari said. “We believe that FUDMA has the potential to become a hub for academic excellence and innovation, and we are willing to support their efforts.”
The meeting concluded with a clear understanding of the mutual benefits that can be derived from the partnership. FUDMA’s leadership team left the meeting with renewed hope and optimism, knowing that the university’s future is bright.
