The Federal Government has approved the establishment of Zamaki College of Health Sciences and Technology Yola. With this historic approval, the College becomes the Pioneer Private College of Health Sciences and Technology in Adamawa state.
The approval which was communicated to the Proprietor of the college, Professor Joseph Zambwa, via a letter dated 24th, March, 2025, referenced C/TEB.467/Vol.VII/115, was signed by the Executive Secretary of National Board for Technical Education, Professor Idris M. Bugaje
The letter said, “in reference to the application and subsequent approval/Resource Inspection visit to Zamaki College of Health Sciences and Technology Yola, Adamawa state, I hereby convey the approval of the Honorable Minister of Education to establish the institution in line with the provision of Act Cap E. 3 LPN 2003, with effect from 19th March, 2025”
The letter further said, “The Board has also approved the Interim Accreditation for Four (4) academic programmes and the corresponding number of streams for the take-off of the institution.
The Programmes are: ND Environmental Health Technology (One class stream of 60 students), ND Community Health Technology (One class stream of 60 students), ND Dental Technology (One class stream of 60 students). and ND Health Information Management (One class stream of 60 students)
The letter stressed that the approval is strictly on the number of streams, and in compliance to the regulations and government policies as it affects private Polytechnic and Monotechnic Institutions.
“Admission of students into the approved programmes should commence with immediate effect from the 2025/2026 academic session. The approval to commence the programmes lapses, if admission does not take place within the stated period”, the letter clarified.

It added that, “admission can only be allowed to take place after a fresh resource inspection visit has been carried out at the instance of the institute”
It further said that the approved programmes will be due for Initial Accreditation when the first set of students are in the third or fourth semester of the study.
Professor Bugaje’s letter stressed that, *”Please, note that it is the responsibility of the institution to invite the Board to carry out the Initial Accreditation exercise, when due”*.Failure to do so within the specified period will disqualify it from further admission of students into the Programmes.
“While congratulating the Proprietor of the College for securing approval to establish the first Private College of Health Sciences and Technology in Adamawa State, Professor Bugaje said, “The Operational license for the establishment of the institute will be presented to you at a date to be communicated to you later”.
Reacting to the approval, Professor Zambwa expressed his profound happiness and gratitude to the Federal Government for approving the establishment of the college. As an educationist and scholar, he reiterated his commitment to contributing to the development of the education sector.
“I am thrilled to receive this approval, and I am committed to ensuring that Zamaki College of Health Sciences and Technology becomes a center of excellence in health sciences and technology education,” Professor Zambwa said. “As an educationist and scholar, I promise to continue to contribute to the development of the education sector, providing high-quality education and training to our students.”
He also assured that the college would adhere to the highest standards of academic excellence and regulatory compliance, as outlined in the approval letter.
