The former Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) branch, Professor Muhammad Kabir Aliyu, has commended Ushie Uguamaye, the brave Youth Corper who spoke out against the economic hardship in Nigeria under President Bola Tinubu’s administration. Professor Aliyu praised Uguamaye’s courage in expressing her opinions, despite the potential risks, stating that “her comments reflect the frustrations of many Nigerians who are struggling to make ends meet due to the country’s economic woes.”
As a renowned academic, activist and advocate for good governance, academic excellence, and social justice, Professor Aliyu’s commendation of Uguamaye is in line with his commitment to these values. His leadership and advocacy have earned him recognition and respect within the academic community.
Notably, Professor Aliyu has held various positions, including Secretary of the 2009 FG-ASUU Negotiating Team and Editor of the Abuja-based Education Monitor Newspaper. He is currently the Director of the Centre for Historical Research and Heritage Preservation at Nasarawa State University Keffi.
