The Pharmaceutical Association of Nigeria Students, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria Chapter [PANS ABU Zaria] will hold its 3rd Annual Symposium and Lecture on Saturday, 8th August 2026.
The event, themed _“The Pharmacist of Tomorrow: Adapting, Innovating and Thriving in a Changing Healthcare Landscape”_, will also feature the launching of the PANS Magazine. It will take place at GOLT 1, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, ABU Zaria, at 9:00 a.m.
This year’s symposium is being held in honour of Prof. Ahmed Tijjani Mora, OON, FPCPharm, FICEN, FIHMN, FNIM, mni, K’ayayen Sarkin Musulmi, Wakilin Maganin Zazzau.
Prof. Mora will also serve as Chairman of the occasion. The Special Guest of Honour is Group Capt. Duke Daniels of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, Kaduna State.
The Chief Host is the Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, ABU Zaria, Prof. Mohammad Garba Magaji, while the Host is the PANS ABU Zaria President, Mukhtar Danjuma Aliyu.
The Guest Lecturer is Prof. O. O. Kunle, who will speak on _“A. T. Mora Perspective of the Theme.”_
Keynote speakers at the event include Pharmacist Isah Dahiru, who will speak on _“Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation: Preparing the Pharmacist of Tomorrow for a Technology-Driven Healthcare System”_; Prof. NM Danjuma on _“Alumni Perspective of the Theme”_; and Pharmacist Bonire Ebunoluwa John on _“Hospital Pharmacy Perspective of the Theme.”_
Other special guests expected include Pharmacist Sunday Ali Okoh, Chairman, PSN Kaduna State; Pharm Murtala Isa Umar, PSN Chairman Kano State; Pharm Ohida Aminu, PSN Chairman Niger State; Pharmacist Talatu Uwa Ebune, PANS MATRON; Pharmacist Bilkisu Umar, HOD, Pharmacy Unit, ABUTH; and Pharmacist Muhammad Bello, Marketing Manager, AMA Pharmaceuticals, Kaduna.
PANS ABU Zaria said the symposium is aimed at equipping pharmacy students and professionals with insights on innovation, technology, and the future of pharmacy practice in Nigeria.
