The Management of Federal University Dutsin-Ma, FUDMA, Katsina State, has dissociated itself from a campaign poster circulating that the Vice Chancellor, Professor M.K. Uthman, is contesting for President of Nigeria in 2027.
In a disclaimer dated July 28, 2026, signed by Nasiru M. Abdul, Director of Information and Protocol, the University said it was alerted to the printing and circulation of the poster which bears Prof. Uthman’s image and APC branding.
The management stated that the Vice Chancellor has not indicated interest in partisan politics and did not authorize anyone to print or circulate the material.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the Management wishes to dissociate itself completely from the mischief and antics of those who printed and are circulating the poster,” the statement said.
It added that Prof. Uthman “has never told anyone, nor mandated anyone or group to print or circulate the said campaign poster.”
The University urged the public to disregard the poster and said steps are being taken to identify those behind it and take lawful measures.
The poster carried the inscription: _“VOTE PROF. M.K UTHMAN AS PRESIDENT, FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA 2027 AND BEYOND”_ with promises on security, job creation, education, healthcare, unity and good governance.
