Professor Shamsuddeen Omale, a former Vice Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, and the Amir of Muslims of Benue State, has described the university’s twenty-fifth anniversary as “excellent, excellent, excellent,” and praised the leadership of the current Vice Chancellor, Professor Saadatu Hassan Liman.
Speaking with Education Monitor Magazine on the sidelines of the Silver Jubilee Anniversary and Eighth Combined Convocation Ceremony of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Omale commended Professor Liman and her management team for their work.
“The Vice Chancellor, Professor Saadatu Liman, and her team have done very well, and we encourage you to continue to do very well,” he said. “It is not easy to do what you are doing. It is not easy at all. She is a very hardworking Vice Chancellor.”
Professor Omale added, “We commend her very highly. She is a very intelligent Vice Chancellor and gifted in administration.”
When asked for his message to the university community as the institution marks twenty-five years of existence, he said: “Keep on praying to Almighty Allah for them to keep on building upon the achievements they have obtained so far. And I am sure that this Vice Chancellor will continue to do her best for the university.”
Commenting on the convocation lecture delivered by Professor Patrick Loch Otieno Lumumba, Professor Omale said: “You cannot do more than that. He has done the very best he could for us, for Africa, and for the world. He is a wonderful speaker. Excellent.”
He expressed appreciation to the convocation lecturer, stating: “We thank him. We are very grateful to him. Extremely grateful.”
