Global Skills Hub (GSH) has recognized Prof Raymond B. Bako, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, as one of the ‘100 Most Impactful Education Personalities in Africa’ for 2025.

This prestigious award was presented at the 4th Africa Education Summit held at the University of Professional Studies, Accra, Ghana.

Prof Bako was recognized for his exceptional contributions to education and transformative impact in strengthening learning, leadership, and educational development across Africa.

The award acknowledges his outstanding leadership, commitment to academic excellence, and significant contributions to African education.

GSH, the organization behind the award, is actively boosting digital skills, education, and innovation in Africa.

They partner with IBM, Aleph, and Microsoft to train thousands of young Africans in digital skills, bridging the continent’s digital divide and fostering economic growth.

The Africa Education Summit, organized by GSH, brings together top educators, policymakers, and EdTech innovators to shape Africa’s education future. This year’s summit focused on EdTech integration, highlighting digital skills’ importance in Africa’s growth.

GSH also supports teacher development through initiatives like the Global Teachers Campus and Imaginecole platform, and collaborates with organizations like Hacklab Foundation to equip African youth with digital skills.
